Buddha said ¨ There are those who do not realize that one day we all must die,but those who realize this will settle their quarrels.
Quarrels or disputes are mainly because of indifference or intolerance. Every one think they are perfect and their acts are also reflections from “perfect”. When they deal with others these “perfectness” gain a momentum which is unstoppable. When they conceive issues which are against their perception they will start to argue with others and make reservations of their statements. This ends in quarrel. Great personalities never will engage in such petty quarrels. He knows that every people have a right to express their views which can be right or wrong. In heated debates he outshine others with a smiling face and calmness flowing from heart which is beyond disputes.
As in life so in quarrels. Every one wants to be winner in life, similarly in quarrels also he have the urge to win. He does not want to loose either in the middle of the quarrel or aftermath of the quarrel. He argues more and more, and try to dominate on others points. When others continues to disagree, then he will try to bring more and more points to counter those arguments. Winning is the vital point of argument. He ends a debate in a note either in cursing other or self praising. After that debate he will try to maintain a gap to whom he has argued. This is because if the try to settle the issue then it means he has accepted his defeat. Just like a small and big needles of a clock is fixed on the same point similarly the debaters too fix on “winning factor” in quarrel as well in the aftermath of the quarrel.
Great person realize that there is no permanent win, because every thing have short span in life. Years will pass away like tides in ocean. The “permanency” is only for that time till other one smashes the previous. Therefore he never looks on permanency. Even if he gains anything permanent, till he knows it's only relevant in his life time. His life is also too short and is not permanent. He foresee impermanence in permanency. Permanency is only a fiction. One who sees this impermanent stature of things, knows that winning and loosing is a matter of time and product of impermanence. He don´t feel any grudge towards others because life is too short and quarrels are much shorter than life.
