Read a lot, listen more, these are the two proposals put forward by intellectuals for making a man to become wise. The more you read, the more you listen, the chance of becoming wise will also be brighter. It is a true concept, but the fact is, you won't become wiser just by reading or listening. Wisdom lies in thinking. You have to think over the ideas you read or listened and analyze whether it is 'right or wrong'. To realize the nature of the concept you have to ponder over it again and again.
You should have the insight that, all ideas emerging from a person who you think is wise may not be RIGHT and also all the ideas forwarded by a person whom you think is 'not wise' may not be WRONG as well. By thinking over, the difference between the two can be easily traced. Therefore, thinking is the fundamental ingredient for becoming wise. The person who cannot think is not wise even though he may have read a lot; because he live upon swallowing others ideas than digesting it and make it as his own. It is obvious that one has not understood the ideas he read or listen into, hence it always remains as others' ideas. It will be wise to remember the Japanese proverb-”If you believe everything you read, better not read”
